THERE'S JUST ONE PROBLEM There is no MPE/iX command called GIMME, or anything like it. If you ask HELP for something that doesn't exist, it will assume you made a mistake. Then it will show you an error message and wait for you to make another choice. But, let's pretend that typing HELP GIMME really could give you a HELP entry for the command GIMME. It's easier to start with something that looks familiar. IF MPE/iX HAD A COMMAND CALLED GIMME, HELP COULD TELL YOU ABOUT IT You'll see the colon (:) prompt at the left edge of your screen. : =========>> this tells you you're in MPE/iX :help ========>> you typed HELP (lowercase works) :help <RETURN> =======>> you just pressed <RETURN> ======>> you'll see the first HELP screen and the > prompt at the > lower left of your screen. >gimme =====>> you typed the name of a command >gimme <RETURN> ====>> and you pressed <RETURN> ...Please press <RETURN> Back to Main Index
